Gather and Destroy                                                                        2004

As part of the show, Paper Bullets: A War of Words presented at Intersection for the Arts in San Francisco, Gather and Destroy uses a common a weed-trimmer and leaf –blower as tools to be used by target populations to defend themselves from aerial leafleting campaigns.   Paper Bullets brought together historical archives and new work by nine contemporary California artists to explore the consequences of six decades of psychological operations (psyops); the most recent psyops activity involved dropping leaflets on battlefields from Europe to Asia to Iraq.
