Ese: The Last Mexican                                                            2000

Ese: the Last Mexican was a performance and public art project about the cultural whitewashing and gentrification of the Mission District of San Francisco.  The work parodied the early 20th century Californian story of Ishi, the last of the Yahi tribe. Collaborators included Jaime Cortez, Monica Praba Pilar, John Leaños, Gerardo Pérez and René García.  Sponsored by the Galeria de la Raza.
