Presented at the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery, possible Side Effects may include ... was a collaborative multimedia installation by Lise Swenson, Rene Garcia, the San Francisco Art Institute Youth Arts Collaborative, and members of Teaching Intermedia Literacy Tools.  A yellow brick road leads the viewer into to the rear gallery where a gauntlet of televisions are perched upon large oil drums with pill bottles arrayed on top of the TVs that play medical advertisements.  A collection of pill bottles with customized labels spells out all the awful side effects of commercial media over saturation:  anorexia, violence, and worst of all, your unconscious submission to corporate control.
